Another Day At BWI Airport.

Yeah, I know, another MARC commuter train picture. I can't help it. IT'S AN ADDICTION! I NEED THERAPY!! Ok, I'm calm now. Anyway this is a scene that plays itself out every day. A pair of MARC trains meeting at BWI Airport just outside of Washington, D.C. The arriving train is heading towards Washington D.C. while the other is bound for Baltimore. This is Amtrak's Northeast Corridor but among MARC passengers, it is also known as the Penn Line named after the original owner, the Pennsylvania Railroad. Some northbound MARC trains can venture as far as Perryville, Md., about twenty miles south of Wilmington, Delaware. The outbound in this picture is being pulled by one of MARC's own AEM7 electric locomotives built by General Motors in the 1980's while the push-pull cars were built by the Japanese car builder, Sumitomo. All MARC equipment assigned to the Penn Line are maintained by Amtrak.
